Disclaimer
This guide is for organization and education. It is not legal, tax, financial, or funeral advice. Laws and cemetery rules differ by state and by property. Official documents should be completed with an attorney or the correct state or institution form.
No professional relationship
Reading this site or using our workbooks does not create an attorney-client, fiduciary, medical, or advisory relationship of any kind.
State and local rules differ
Advance directives, powers of attorney, wills, and trusts are governed by state law, and the requirements are not the same in every state. Cemetery rules are set by each individual property and can differ between two cemeteries in the same town. Funeral regulations are federal in part and state in part.
Anything general we publish may not apply to your situation.
Our workbooks are not legal documents
The workbooks record information. They are not signed, witnessed, notarized, or filed with any court or agency. They do not transfer property, appoint an agent, or direct medical care. A completed workbook is not a will, a trust, an advance directive, or a power of attorney.
Accuracy and changes
We try to be accurate and current, and we correct errors when we learn about them. Laws, fees, and procedures change. We do not guarantee that every statement is current at the moment you read it.
Third parties
We link to government offices and other outside sources for convenience. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they publish.
